Nagoya Castle

This year I went to Nagoya Castle to enjoy the cherry blossoms on my Japan trip. It was a beautiful sight with all the cherry blossoms surrounding the castle. Unfortunately, in the morning, there were a lot of clouds surrounding the area so it was a bit dark but it was still an amazing experience.

There were many buildings and tiny restaurants in the front selling little treats such as dango, drinks, and candies to eat before entering the park.

After the front entrance area, you then walk onto a bridge to cross the moat and into the castle area. You can then walk around or even walk inside of the castle buildings if you wait in a long line. We ended up not doing that as we weren’t too interested in seeing inside the buildings. From the other entrance to the castle, this is how the castle looked like.

This perspective really showed how large and tall the building was. The cherry blossoms also were great to take pictures of and for amazing photos of the castle.

After the castle, the gardens of cherry blossoms were slightly pink and in full bloom at the time we got there.

Visiting Nagoya Castle during cherry-blossom season was truly a memorable experience. The sprawling grounds, the vibrant pink blooms, and the majestic castle walls combined into a scene that felt timeless. While morning clouds softened the light, they also lent a dreamlike quality to the setting and making every photo feel like a page from a storybook.

If you’re planning a visit, I’d recommend going early in the day to catch that soft morning glow but don’t worry if the sky is a little overcast.

Would I return? Absolutely. If you’re looking for a spot where nature and history meet in a spectacular display, Nagoya Castle should be on your list.
